The Nation Of Gentlemen started out as B.O.W. Ties (Boys Of Wisdom) 2004 which is an organization founded by Jay White on the the principles of Faith, Leadership, Integrity and Purpose Work. Jay saw many disparities in and around his community and constantly crossed paths with young men within his culture that appeared to be aimless and resource deficient. Many came from households headed by women absent a positive male presence and have left many of our young men turning to the streets groping for acceptance. We took nine young men and guided their careers. We introduced them to banking, took them on college tours, visited farms where they had to not only plant crops but also had to harvest and sell their goods at a local grocery store, took them to aviation school to learn the fundamentals of flying a plane, took them to etiquette classes, involved them in community service by cleaning the community and visiting shelters where people have been displaced, had them each fitted by a tailor, toured Delta headquarters and so much more. Through service, education, hard work and strategic partnerships, we are committed to building young men to reach their highest and best potential.
